What is the difference between Linseed Soap & other soap?
- Ingredients: Linseed oil soap is made from linseed oil, while regular soap can contain different types of fats and oils.
- Areas of use: Linseed oil soap is specially designed to care for and protect compared to regular soap which lacks these protective properties.
- Environmental impact: Linseed oil soap is more environmentally friendly and biodegradable, in contrast to regular soap.
- Skin-friendly: Linseed oil soap is often gentler on the skin than regular soap, which can be more drying.
- Price and availability: Although linseed oil soap may be more expensive, this reflects its higher quality.
Linseed oil soap is truly a miracle product. Its versatility is perhaps its greatest advantage, as it can be used for a variety of purposes while being environmentally friendly. Unlike other soaps, linseed soap does not dry out surfaces, making it suitable for almost all household cleaning needs – from washing floors and removing paint from fittings to treating stains on clothes. But what is the difference between linseed soap and other types of soap?
Superfatted Linseed Oil Soap: What It Is and Why You Should Use It
Superfatted linseed oil soap is a soap in which some of the oil is not completely saponified. This extra amount of linseed oil, often called "superfatting", gives the soap a moisturizing and protective property that makes it particularly suitable for skin care and cleaning delicate materials.
Green or yellow soap that you find in the grocery store has a completely different function than linseed soap. The yellow soap sold in the grocery store is a diluted version of pine soap and lacks the properties required for, for example, soaping or maintaining a floor or dealing with very dirty surfaces. The green variant is the same as the yellow but with added coloring to mimic the old-fashioned hemp seed oil.
A real pine soap, on the other hand, is based on pure and saponified pine oil, contains no additives, and can also be used to soap spruce and pine floors. It is characterized by a golden yellow color, high fat content and a natural scent. A strong recommendation from us if you don't like linseed oil soap!
A big advantage of the linseed soap is that it is made from linseed oil, a completely drying oil. Källans Linolejsåpa is made in Sweden and the flax used is also grown in Swedish fields. When the soap is saponified, it retains a higher amount of this oil, which leads to a "super-fatty" product with many excellent properties.
This locally produced lentil soap combines environmental friendliness with Swedish quality!
